I trained at City of Westminster College, specialising in reportage and portrait photography. Whilst at the college I was lucky enough to work as a printer in the darkrooms of The Independent, working with the finest reportage and portrait photographers in the country. Also whilst still at college I was taken on as a photographer with NME, shooting musicians and performance artists for news and features.
I stayed in editorial for 10 years before going on to work with major companies in the music industry and I am regularly commissioned by Sony and Universal, photographing exclusive events for personalities such as Beyonce and Take That.
When the GLA was established in 2000 I was taken on as a photographer for the Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, photographing his official engagements including the Royal Opening of City Hall with The Queen. I continue to cover high profile events such as Remembrance Day and cultural celebrations like Diwali and Chinese New Year for the current Mayor Boris Johnson.
I am with the photo agency Redferns Music, part of the Getty Imaging Group and my work has featured in most major news and music publications including The Times, The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Independent, The Daily Mail, NME, Q Magazine, Mojo, Rocksound and Kerrang!
