Whilst still at college I was blagging my way into The Cartoon Club in Croydon via a friend of a friend. It was a bit of a trek every Wednesday (after a long day at college) as i live din Bounds Green but it was a guest list and I was on it. I was on my way!
I was also blagging my way into the Forum via another friend of a friend and managed to get a pass for Reading Festival 1994. I invested in a second hand 70-200 F2.8, spent all my money on a stack of black and white film and processing chemicals and proceeded to shoot as if I was covering it for the NME. I printed up 6 gallery sized prints and sent them in and the next week got invited in for a chat with the picture editor and a trial gig with The Bluetones at the Dublin Castle.
Since then I have shot news, features, festivals and portraits for NME, Vox, Select, Rocksound and Uncut. I have also worked for Real People Magazine and The Big Issue shooting portraits and the music websites Dot music and Yahoo Music shooting gigs.
